The reviews from customers can help you understand the item better:
This thing makes my camera look like it came straight out of Hollywood on a production set, and while it certainly looks complicated to the novice, its actually fairly easy to set up and pack away after your done shooting.
I was expecting it to be somewhat subpar in quality compared to the "ridiculously expensive" boxes, but was delighted to see it was full production quality and worked just as I needed. It's very solid and when everything is locked down, it holds, even in a steady wind when filming outdoors.
Be forwarned that there are no instructions as to putting this together and if you have not put a matte box together before it may be a little tricky but after a few tweaks you really should get it. Overall I'm am very impressed with this matte box and thankfull that Red Star is looking out for the little guys and not trying to gouge us with insane prices we can never afford.
